What is great in calling a spade a spade, say something metaphoric so that people rack their brains before they understand that you are talking about a spade.

BDay - My day

>> Sunday, January 3, 2010

Well how to begin, should I adopt a Torantino style and narrate the events in a non-linear manner or should I take an animated route? Okay... on this day I will do it my own way.
After all the shopping I have done for 2 months I have decided I will not buy anything in the coming 6 months at least but, you see there is always a but butting in what ever I say, I went out on the evening of 2nd Jan to dine out with you-know-who. Unfortunately I had more time that what I needed for dining so... so what? I went window shopping for the 3 time this week. This time not to Megamart but to a different outlet. As soon as I went in I was awestruck, dumbstruck and thunderstruck to know that Espirit shirt was sold at as low a price as 550 bucks - 20% discount. You know I am good at profits and losses and percentages. With amazing speed I calculated the price to be 440 and despite all the advice I received I bought a shirt.
( wonder why I did not mention about this in my blog yesterday- I did mention and I was crying about this, rather covertly, all over my blog).
But today is not a day to cry because 24 years ago right on this date I declared my emergence to the people around and in a way to the world by tugging at the necklace of the doctor who helped my mother with me. Of course I cried aloud that day when the doctor did not let the chain go. The doctor called me a Demon( a rakshasa) for all I did,sad isn't it for a new born to be referred thus. Wait a minute, why am I talking about what happened 24 years ago. I will talk about today my 24th birth day. The day( at 12) started with a plum-cake cutting followed by a couple of phone calls and wished over Orkut. After we devoured the cake I filled my blog till 2 in the night and slept for the day. What12 'o'clock is to frens 6 o' clock is to family. I never get up from bed before 10 in the morning if it is a holiday, having said that my parents do know about this but expected me to be up at the least by 8 today and called me at 9. Needless to say I was still in bed and the first question my mom asked was " Do you remember that today is your birthday" and I said yes half asleep. Then she asked me if I was still in bed and I said " No " - A typical Johny Johny yes papa situation isn't it? Realizing it is time to get up I tore blankets away and emerged once again for the 25 th time on this date but today with a head ache because of sleeping late and raising early. I rushed through the ablutions to check gifts all from you-know-who. The first I set my hands on was a wallet, the second was a little unexpected a photo frame with a very relevant picture in it and the third was a stunner. The third pack contained 3 books one was Brida by Paul Coehelo, the next was Rosa by an author I haven't heard of and the third was The Last Mughal by William Darlymple. "The last Mughal" goes long way with me. Every time I go to a book shop I lay hands on it and will want to buy it but refrain from do it not because of the price but because I doubted if I could complete this book. I borrowed this book couple of years ago from my company's library and I returned the book reading only the first 45 pages of it. Then on this book has remained elusive. Now I get to lay hands on it and really happy about it. Thanks to you my beloved. The last was a fast track watch which wasn't a surprise as I guessed this the before day itself :).
I will save the rest of the day's events for tomorrow because after a long weekend it certainly would be an eventless day at office.
